Opening a particular folder using command prompt windows 10

Procedure is same for windows versions, xp, vista, windows 7, windows 8, windows 8.1 and windows 10. Follow the steps below: Way 1 Launch Run command/dialog by press windows button + R or Search for Run in start menu. Type the complete folder path including drive letter i.e. C:\my\folder\to\open.

  • Launch Run command/dialog by press windows button + R or Search for Run in start menu.
  • Type the complete folder path including drive letter i.e. C:\my\folder\to\open. Folder must exists in your drive on given path.
Way 2
  • Launch command prompt.
  • Type start path_to_open and press enter. For example if you want to open C:\my\folder then type Start C:\my\folder and press enter.
